Personal Statistics
- DOB: September/October 1988 (Jason celebrated his 19th birthday during the first part of season 2)
Jason Street is the only child of Joann and Mitchell Street.
Pre-Series
Jason played football since PeeWees and was previously coached by Coach Taylor. Wendell Holmes was one of his wide receivers and said that Jason was the best quarterback he ever played with.
Season 1
Beginning the fall 2006 season of Dillon Panther football, Jason Street was QB1. He was being recruited to attend Notre Dame University to play football. He received hundreds of recruitment letters from various colleges.
He broke his neck during the game against Westerby damaging his spinal cord from C7-T1 rendering him a quadriplegic. After rehab he joined a quad rugby team and tried out for the national team that was going to compete at the Paralympics in Beijing China. He did not make the team and instead returned to Dillon and became an assistant coach to the Panthers football team.
Jason dated Lyla Garrity. She had an affair with his best friend, Tim Riggins, after his accident. They later reconciled and he proposed marriage to Lyla, which she accepted. He later was caught on a date with Suzy and Lyla ended the engagement.
Season 2
As of season 2, Jason was having some trouble remaining adjusted to his still new Quad status. He stayed on as an assistant coach to the Panthers until a clash with the new coach over his skills as a professional vs. his skills as a team mascot arose. This, paired with the simultaneous excitement/disappointment of regaining some movement in his right hand and being told by the doctor that this was no sign of a full or even partial recovery, sent Jason on a sudden road trip to Mexico for experimental stem cell surgery.
Initially only Tim accompanied him on this sojourn until he realized how risky this surgery really was a called Lyla down to Mexico as backup. After assessing the situation, Lyla and Tim decide to take Jason on a 'booze cruise' to talk him out of the risky surgery involving Shark cells. Jason tells them that he would rather die than remain in the chair and is further angered by Tim's declarations that it won't fly. Frustrated with further crushing of his dream of movement, Jason pitches himself off the boat when they turn their backs, only to have a "come to Jesus" moment when he decides he would rather live in the chair than die. He manages to propel himself to shore and once he's reunited with Lyla and Tim they return to Dillon (first stopping in a Cantina to drink).
Back in Dillon, Jason turned 19 and his mother threw a party where they watch old game tapes. The party ends with Jason giving Coach Taylor his old football things for the next generation to use.
After going on a online dating site, Jason has a disastrous with a woman who has a rather unappealing fetish. He persuades the waitress at the restaurant to make an excuse for him and eventually leaves and spends the night with her instead. His parents were frustrated and Jason proposes it was time for him to move in with his ex-rehab roommate.
As of late, not much has been seen of Jason. However, his mode of transportation, Herc's 'Ol Bessie' broke down something fierce and Jason was forced to take it into Buddy Garrity's dealership for $4000 repair. After discussing with Buddy how tight his expenses are, Buddy offered him a job as a Sales Rep.
Jason's one night stand, Erin, shows up and informs him that she is pregnant. It was not expected that Jason would be able to father a child after his accident, so he asks Erin to have the baby because he thinks it is a miracle.
